RIVER TARRELL

The River Tarrell rises above the Storey Arms in the Brecon Beacons and flows down the the market town of Brecon where it joins the River Usk.   The river is over shaded and very difficult to fish and the fish that inhabit this river are truly wild brown trout.   The season for fishing the river is from 3rd March until 30th September each year and the methods allowed by MTAA on our beat of the river is fly or worm.    For information on how to get to the beat and for the latest information please contact our secretary Nigel Morgan on 01685 377848.   Below are a couple of pictures taken by one of our members in March 2005.   New Rule for 2007 only 4 trout may be killed in any one day, day ticket anglers are only allowed to kill 2 fish.   The Wye Usk Foundation have completed bank work on our fishery over the 2006 winter, they have opened up the canopy and removed trees that were shading the runs and pools.
