DOWLAIS COMMUNITY EVENT

On Saturday 18th June the Association working with Penywern Community Group and Dowlais Forum put on a "Come Fishing Day".   The day was a great success due to the effort put into it by all the volunteers who worked extremely hard.   On the cooking side of things Rhian definitely earned her Girl Guide Badge for Cookery, she started the barbeque at 9.30 am and did not stop cooking until 4pm, Well done Rhian.   Tim from the Forum was the master of events (we could not get the microphone off him) and he did an extremely good job.   Bernard Farr was the fishing organiser and somehow he managed to get most of the children who turned up fishing.   Bernard and his excellent coaches introduced 60 children to fishing and 3 ladies.   Running alongside the fishing event were the bouncy castle and slide, face painting, stilt walking, balloon modelling, African drumming and pony riding.   Below are the some of the many photos taken on the day.
