Barbel Fishing

The Barbel Society has requested anglers to cease fishing for barbel on the River Wye whilst the current hot spell of weather continues.  This is because of the low water and oxygen levels in the water, which stresses fish and the added stress of being caught could cause the fish to expire.  The picture below was taken at Radyr weir on the River Taff yesterday morning (9/7/18) and shows that the weir is barely functioning and indicates how low the river levels are around the country.
